All lighting fixtures from Cherry Tree Design can be installed with energy efficient electronic ballasts and compact fluorescent bulbs.

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Compact Fluorescent Lamps, or CFLs, are miniature fluorescent bulbs that can be used in place of incandescent light bulbs. For table and floor lamps, a screw base fluorescent lamp can be purchased to screw into standard light sockets and emit a light similar to that of a common incandescent bulb.. For sconces, ceiling lights, and pendants, Cherry Tree Design can install the hardware necessary for the use of snap-in CFLs.

CFLs use between one-fifth and one-quarter of the power of an equivalent incandescent bulb, thereby saving significant amounts of energy.

Although they are more expensive, CFLs last approximately 8 to 15 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

Electronic Ballasts

An electrical ballast is a device intended to regulate the flow of energy into a lamp. Gradual replacement of magnetic ballasts with electronic ballasts over the years has eliminated most of the flickering and slow starting traditionally associated with fluorescent lighting.

Because of the high frequency of operation, electronic ballasts are generally smaller, lighter, and more efficient than magnetic ballasts.
